Baku Grave Crimes Court held a hearing on the case of Kanal13 internet television's arrested executive director Aziz Orujov. Judge Mirza Khankishiyev presided the jury. The journalist's lawyers filed several motions at the hearing. Javad Javadov asked the court to apply to the Constitutional Court for the interpretation of Article 192.1 of the Criminal Code. (more…)

The additions may introduce a monetary penalty against the owner of the internet information resource or domain for the dissemination of information prohibited from distribution or failure to prevent the dissemination of such information. Baku Court of Appeal, chaired by Judge Aflatun Gasimov, continued the proceedings on blogger Mehman Huseynov's appeal. At the hearing, Mehman's lawyers stressed the importance of viewing the security camera recordings from 9 January from the area, where Mehman Huseynov had been detained, and from Nasimi District Police Department. "Today, I was informed that my account in Kapitalbank was suspended at the request of the Ministry of Taxes on 8 November. There is going to be a court hearing in Baku Administrative Economic Court #1 with regard to this matter on 27 November.
