Today, the Sabail District Court concluded its investigation of the six members of the opposition arrested during the April 2nd rally.  Judge Elnur Hasanov presided over the trial.

The defendants included Azerbaijan Popular Front Party activists Sahib Karimov, Arif Alishli, Babak Hasanov, Zulfugar Eyvazli, Musavat party activist Elshan Hasanov and non-affiliated Elnur Israfilov.
According to one of the their lawyers, Yalchin Imanov, a representative of the Baku City Executive Power was questioned in the trial as a witness. Citing that the pre-trial sentence given to 4 of the defendants has expired, the lawyer asked the court to release them from prison. The Judge denied the motion.  All filming and photgraphy was banned during the hearing.
The Prosecutor requested time to prepare for his speech till August 19.
After the hearing, another lawyer Mansum Bayramov told Objective TV that, during the court investigation, the prosecution side failed to bring any evidence demonstrating the defendants’ guilt.
The defendants are being charged under Articles 233 and 186.1 of the Criminal Code: involvement in the violation of social order and property vandalism.

A group of supporters gathered in front of Sabail District Court supported their friends, shouting “Freedom” .
