He asked for a mitigation of punishment in connection with serving 2\/3 of the term of imprisonment. The activist asked the court to replace the remaining term with a suspended sentence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-thumbnail\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/www.irfs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/02-3-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20477\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.irfs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/02-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.irfs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/02-3-85x85.jpg 85w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><figcaption> Agyl Maharramli<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the court rejected Maharramli&#8217;s appeal, citing a \u201cnegative characterization\u201d from the jail administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The defense considers the decision unfair and intends to appeal. Recall that Maharramli was arrested in May 2018 in the so-called case of \u201cillegal financing of the Popular Front Party\u201d. He was sentenced to four years in prison. At the end of May, he was three years in prison.
