This was reported to Turan by his son Ogtay Salaev.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, the activist suffers from cardiac distress and enlarged liver. &#8220;They don&#8217;t even transfer him to the medical unit of the colony, let alone to the hospital,&#8221; Ogtay Salayev said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In turn, A. Salayev&#8217;s lawyer, Elchin Sadygov, stated that he was aware of Salayev&#8217;s health problems, but could not get access to him yet. &#8220;Yesterday I was not allowed to see him. Today I will try again to get an appointment,&#8221;the lawyer said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The department of public relations of the penitentiary service told Turan that there was no written appeal about A. Salayev&#8217;s hunger strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;If he has any health problems, then there is a doctor in the institution and they will take care of him,&#8221; the department said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">* It should be recalled that Alizamin Salayev was convicted on April 20, 2020 by the Salyan regional court and sentenced to 2 years and 3 months of imprisonment on of &#8220;slander &#8220;and&#8221; insult&#8221; charges on the basis of a complaint from a local policeman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reason for the claim was a video distributed by Salaev on the Internet where he, in an interview with a police officer, accused him of inciting a 21-year-old local female resident to cohabitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salaev was recognized by human rights activists as a political prisoner.<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On August 4 , Alizamin Salayev, an activist of the Party of People&#8217;s Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) launched a hunger strike in the colony number 17 protesting against a failure to render a medical aid to him.
