He is charged under Article 126.2.4 (causing serious damage to health in a dangerous way from hooligan motives) of the Criminal Code which provides for a penalty of 6 to 11 years of imprisonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is charged with stabbing a resident of the settlement of Zira, Yamen Mammadov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, according to human rights activists, the provocation was committed against Gumbatov and the real reason for the activist&#8217;s arrest was his criticism of the country&#8217;s leadership on social networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A year ago, after a critical statement against the authorities on the Internet, Gumbatov was imprisoned in a mental hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Khazar district court of Baku rejected a complaint of the lawyer of the activist of the Party of People&#8217;s Front of Azerbaijan&nbsp; (PPFA) Agil Gumbatov.
