The Union for Freedom of Political Prisoners of Azerbaijan has updated the list of persons arrested or convicted for political reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are 122 surnames in the list, which are classified into six groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\u201cJournalists and Bloggers\u201d – 5 people;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMembers of opposition parties and movements\u201d – 8 people;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBelievers\u201d – 21 people;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Convicted in the Terter case” – 27 people<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Convicted in the Ganja case” – 47 people<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLife-sentenced prisoners\u201d – 14 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New on the list were those arrested on charges of drug trafficking: PFPA member Mutallim Orudjev and Malik Rzayev, who were deported on readmission from Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, a member of the Spiritual Workers of Azerbaijan Association Sardar Babayev has been added to the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The previous list, released on September 1, also included 122 people. However, since then bloggers Elchin Hasanzade and Ibrahim Turksoy have been released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
