The health of the arrested editor of the “Khural TV” website, Avaz Zeynalli, has worsened, his daughter Seljan Zeynalli after visiting her father in the pre-trial detention center of the State Security Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe has diabetes, vision problems. The father is worried about acute back pain, he takes medication, but he needs qualified medical assistance. He is kept in a cramped solitary cell, it is stuffy and there is no sunlight,\u201d said Seljan Zeynalli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The attempts to get comments from the press service of the State Security Service were futile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
* Avaz Zeynalli and lawyer Elchin Sadigov were detained by the prosecutor’s office on September 10, and on September 11, the Binagadi court arrested both of them for 4 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zeynalli is charged under the Article 311.3.3 (taking a large-scale bribe), and Sadigov is charged under the Articles 32.5, 311.3.3 (assistance in taking a bribe on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Avaz Zeynalli and Elchin Sadigov denied the allegations and linked them to their professional activities. International organizations have condemned the arrest of the lawyer and journalist. They called on the Azerbaijani authorities to release the indicated persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
