Head of the Salyan region organization of the Party of People’s Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) Alizamin Salayev, was detained on suspicion of stabbing.This was reported to Turan by his son Ogtai Salayev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“On February 7, around 6 o’clock in the morning, my father called and informed of his detention. At night, he was returning home from Baku to Salyan (130 km.) and was waiting for a passing car in the village of Lokbatan. At this time, a man with a knife attacked him. My father began to defend himself, and at that moment police officers appeared and detained my father \u2013 allegedly he was to blame for the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The father said that he was accused under Article 126 (intentional infliction of serious damage to health) of the Criminal Code. He is sure that it was a planned provocation,” the activist’s son said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The press service of the Interior Ministry confirmed that Salayev is suspected of stabbing. According to the Ministry, on the night of February 7, a resident of the village of Sahil, Natik Suleymanov, was stabbed in the stomach and arm. The attacker fled the scene. The wounded man was hospitalized. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police officers detained the suspect Zamin Salayev, the press service of the interior Ministry told Turan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
