However, his request was not granted and he was not brought to court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The activist was detained in the fall of 2021 in Ganja, and on March 31, 2022, the Ganja Serious Crimes Court&nbsp;sentenced him to 6 years in prison, finding him guilty under the Article&nbsp;234.4.3 (large-scale drug trafficking) of the Criminal Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hajiyev denied the accusation. Rufat Safarov, the head of the human rights organization Liniya Zashchita, who observed the process, said that Hajiyev&#8217;s guilt was not proven during the trial.
