Turan was informed by his lawyer Neymat Karimli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, Aliyev denied the accusation and stated that he was being persecuted because of his political activities.<br>The defense is appealing the verdict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elkhan Aliyev was detained on the afternoon of July 26 by employees of the Sabunchu district police department of Baku city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that two more people, Yusif Aliyev and Vafadar Akhundov, were also detained along with Aliyev, the department noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the version of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all three are suspected of selling a land plot in the village of Nardaran using forged documents.
