Chobanoglu, the government will pay him 6 thousand euros"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On September 7, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) decided on the complaint of Azerbaijani journalist Shahvelad Chobanoglu.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The complaint concerned the ban on the journalist&#8217;s departure from the country imposed by the Azerbaijani authorities in 2014. The journalist appealed against the restriction of his freedom of movement.<\/p>\n<p>The Azerbaijani government agreed to recognize the violation of his rights and pay him compensation in the amount of 6 thousand euros and offered to exclude the complaint from the cases considered by the ECHR. The Strasbourg Court granted the government&#8217;s request, taking into account its readiness to pay compensation to Chobanoglu.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, in 2020, the authorities lifted the ban on leaving the country from the journalist.
