{"id":26327,"date":"2023-09-17T09:08:49","date_gmt":"2023-09-17T09:08:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.irfs.org\/?p=26327"},"modified":"2023-09-17T09:08:49","modified_gmt":"2023-09-17T09:08:49","slug":"oppositionist-allahverdi-babayev-arrested-for-30-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.irfs.org\/az\/news-feed\/oppositionist-allahverdi-babayev-arrested-for-30-days\/","title":{"rendered":"Oppositionist Allahverdi Babayev arrested for 30 days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Khazar District Court of Baku on September 16 sentenced activist of the Azerbaijan Party of Democracy and Welfare Allahverdi Babayev to 30 days of administrative arrest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was found guilty under Art. 535.1 (failure to comply with the lawful demands of the police) of the Code of Administrative Offences.<\/p>\n<p>Companions believe that Babaev is being persecuted for criticizing the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The party\u2019s statement claims that he was arrested for making harsh statements against the Azerbaijani authorities in a media interview near the building of the Baku Court of Appeal, where the case of the head of the said organization, Gubad Ibadoglu, was being considered.<\/p>\n<p>Human rights activist Rufat Safarov assessed Babayev\u2019s arrest as \u201canother absurdity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Azerbaijani court made another unfair decision.
