[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On Thursday, the Baku Court of Appeal rejected a petition to overturn a first instance court decision on the arrest of opposition activist Tofiq Yagublu.
\nAs a reminder, Tofiq Yagublu, a member of the Musavat Party and the National Council of Democratic Forces, was jailed for four months by the Narimanov Court in Baku on charges of forging documents.
\nAs his lawyer Neymat Kerimli told Turan, Yagublu today denied the charges against him, calling them far-fetched. He called his arrest a political order and persecution for his criticism of the authorities.
\nAdded to this can be that Tofiq Yagublu, a member of the Musavat Party and the National Council of Democratic Forces, was arrested by the Narimanov Court in Baku for four months on charges of forging documents.
\nYagublu is said to have promised someone to organise political emigration, which was agreed on 8 December. On 11 December, a criminal case was opened for fraud.
\n*Tofiq Yagublu was arrested on 14 December on suspicion of “fraud”, “falsifying documents” and “using false documents”.
\nNote that Yagublu had previously been subjected to repeated criminal and administrative detentions and was recognised as a “prisoner of conscience” following the uprising in Ismayilly.
