\nThe journalists’ lawyers told Turan that the salary accounts of the following journalists were seized at the request of the Baku City police department and the Sabail district police department: Hafiz Babaly, Ulvi Hasanli, Sevinj Vagifgyzy, Nargiz Absalamova, Aziz Orujev, Togrul Veliyev.
\nIn addition, the pension card of Sevinj Vagifgyzy’s mother, the salary account of Ulvi Hasanli’s sister and his mother’s pension card, the salary account of Aziz Orujev’s wife and his mother’s pension card, and the pension card of Hafiz Babaly as a third group disabled person were blocked.
\n“When I asked “Kapital Bank” why my card had been blocked, I was told that our bank accounts had been frozen at the request of the Sabail district police,” Aziz Orujev’s wife, Lamiya Orujeva, told Turan.
\nThe journalists’ family members are currently being looked after by relatives and close friends.
\nThe Interior Ministry’s press service did not respond to a request for comment on why the journalists’ parents’ accounts were blocked.
