According to the lawyer, Orujev has been in a prison hospital for a long time due to heart problems, high blood pressure and disorders of the nervous system. Mehdiyev noted that the capabilities of this medical institution allow providing patients with minimal medical care.<\/p>\n
The defense believes that medical care in a civilian, specialized clinic could be more effective.\u00a0 The defense plans to file a new motion to transfer Orujev to house arrest.<\/p>\n
*Orujev was detained on November 27, 2023 on charges of illegal construction and the court arrested him for three months. However, on December 19, he was charged with a new charge under Article 206.3.2 (smuggling by prior agreement by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code. Orujev faces up to 8 years in prison. On March 19, the court extended his arrest for another 2 months. Aziz Orujev was\u00a0 sentenced in 2017 to 6 years in prison on charges of illegal entrepreneurship.
