On January 25th the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety (IRFS) held an event on results of its IREX-funded Media Arts Center project, where it also awarded the winners of the multimedia productions competition held as part of the project.
In his speech, IRFS chairman Emin Huseynov said that main purpose of the project was to improve multimedia skills of youths. “The Youth Media Center, set up in the framework of this project, has increased the capacity and interest of youths to produce multimedia material and established a network between youth interested in multimedia production. Such projects should be carried out more often, and they should primarily focus on women”. IREX representative Natella Abdullayeva expressed her organization’s readiness to support such projects. IMS programme manager Gulnara Akhundova highly evaluated the implementation of the project.
