Journalist face police pressure while performing his job

Bizim Yol newspaper correspondent Javid Gurbanov faced police pressure while performing his job, the journalist himself reported to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety (IRFS) on May 9. According to Gurbanov, he was stopped by the police while filming in front of the Heydar Aliyev Palace. “I was shooting footages for a reportage about the Flower Festival. When I was taking distant photos, several police officers standing at the nearby underpass stopped me. They told me that I was deliberately filming them and required that I go to the police office with them, and threatened to arrest me if I did not delete the photos” said Gurbanov, and added that he was released after deleting the pictures.
