Yesterday, 13 August, in the Baku Appellate Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Aflatun Gasimov, a hearing took place on the appeal of Gazakh region residents Vidadi Yusifov and Terane Yusifova against “Yeni Chag”, “Elchi”, and “Hunar Meydani” newspapers.
The plaintiffs rescinded their lawsuits and requested that the newspapers do not publish articles about them. Then parties came to agreement.
This lawsuit stems from article “Owner from Gazakh” that was published in all three articles. The plaintiffs appealed to the Narimanov District Court claiming that their honor and dignity were damaged, and the Narimanov District Court issued a decision that all defendants should publish a refutation and be fined. After the Appellate Court annulled the decision of the first instance court, the plaintiffs filed a cassation complaint in the Supreme Court. Then the case was sent back to the Appellate Court to be reconsidered.
