In an explanation to the “Media forum” website the Deputy Chief of the Justice Ministry Registration and Notaries Head Department Mehman Soltanov responded to the statement that IRFS released today, 30 October. Soltanov said that their employees were sent to IRFS as a function of the Justice Ministry to control the NGO’s actions.
"In the organization the employees from the Justice Ministry were informed that the chairman was not present, and that is why there was no document shown," alleged the Ministry’s representative. Soltanov said that it is impossible to conduct controls without the presentation of any document, and he is worried about what is being written in opposition press about this problem and the IRFS statement.
Yesterday, 29 October, the employee of the department Sabina Salmanova called the office of IRFS and said that they will visit at 3:00 p.m. Although IRFS told them that that the chairman of the organization Emin Huseynov was in Romania to participate in the Black Sea Countries NGO Forum, and they could postpone this until several days later, they stated that they would still definitely come. At the same time, over the course of an hour, they asked the IRFS employees about the founders of the organization, members, grants, and the legal and real address.
