RADIO FREQUENCY DEPARTMENT SUES “SIMURG-M” TV

Yesterday, 29 January, in the Baku Local Economy Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Museyib Bayramov, a hearing was held on the lawsuit of State Radiofrequency Department against “Simurg-M” Independent TV and Radio Company due to its debts.

In the lawsuit filed by the plaintiff’s representative in the Baku Local Economy Court #1 it is stated that the conditions of the contract between them was violated and demands that the company pay 9000 AZN in return of the frequency it purchased.
Representatives of both sides have been interrogated during the hearing. The defendant party admitted to having debts and promised to pay them in a short period of time. Judge Museyib Bayramov told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety that the defendat party has already paid part of the debt. The next hearing was scheduled to take place on 10 February, added the judge.
Someone at “Simurg-M” Independent TV and Radio Company, who desired to remain anonymous, told IRFS that the problem has been solved and the trial has been closed. A Radiofrequency Department employee said that he did not have authority to introduce himself and stated that he was unaware of the issue all together.
“Simurg-M” Regional TV operates in the Tovuz region.
