Today (29 August) is the birthday of late TV journalist Chingiz Mustafayev. His birthday was observed with a visit and ceremony at his grave at Shahidlar Khiyabani (Martyrs’ Alley).
”ANS” Company Groups president Vahid Mustafayev, Vice President for Creative Issues of Company Groups Mirshahin Agayev, ANS’ staff, journalists’ relatives and friends participated in the ceremony.
The people gathered at his graves shared memories about C. Musatayev and said prayers that his sould will rest in peace.
Chingiz Mustafayev had unique role in Azerbaijani Press and independent Azerbaijani TV journalism. He reported from front during the height of the Nagorno-Karabakh war and filmed there. Chingiz Mustafayev was the first journalist to film the Khojali tragedy and to present it to the public despite pressure.
Chingiz Mustafayev was born in 1960 and died on 15 June 1992 while filming fighting in the Nakhchivanik village in Karabakh.
After his death, Chingiz was bestowed the honorary title National Hero of Azerbaijan.
