Investigation completed in case of opposition activist

  According to lawyer Bahruz Bayramov, the investigation into the charges against Mingachevir-based Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) activist, Gadir Khudabakhshiyev, has been concluded. Hearing held on APFP activist Asif Yusifli’s case

  On 2 July, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, chaired by Judge Zeynal Agayev, held a hearing in the criminal case against APFP Presidium member, Karabakh war veteran Yusifli Asif Gambar oglu and his acquaintance Rafiq Huseynov, both of whom are charged under articles 178.2 (fraud) and 320.1 (falsification of documents) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. Prosecutor requests a 7-year jail sentence for youth activist

 On May 25, the trial of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) youth activist Elvin Abdullayev continued in the Baku Grave Crimes Court.   At today’s hearing, the prosecutor requested a 7-year prison sentence for Abdullayev. Abdullayev’s lawyer said that at the next hearing, he will demand an acquittal.     Elvin Abdullayev was arrested in January 2015, charged under article 234. (more…)

Family of activist in exile under pressure

Exiled youth activist Rasul Mursalov reported that on May 22, members of his family were detained.
