Strasbourg urges Baku to fully comply with ECHR rulings on activists’ cases

The court denied early release to Saleh Rustamov

On March 3, the Nizami District Court rejected a request for early release of political prisoner Saleh Rustamov. March 1, 2022 The Institute for Freedom and Safety of Reporters condemns the authorities of Azerbaijan for intentional passivity resulting in cruel murder of a journalist and LGBT activist 24-year old Avaz Shikhmamedov (publishing under nickname Avaz Khafizli).
