Today, 18 years have passed since the death of Azerbaijani government representatives as a result of the crash of helicopter “MI-8” in the Garakand village of Khocavand region on 20 November 1991.
Azerbaijan’s State Secretary Tofig Ismayilov, Prosecutor General Ismat Gayibov, State Counselor Mahammad Asadov, Deputy Prime Minister Zulfi Hajiyev, Presidential Administration Department Head Osman Mirzayev and employees of the State Television and Radio Company; and journalists Ali Mustafayev, Fakhraddin Shahbazov, and Arif Huseynzade were among people who died during this terror attack.
Although there is no doubt that Armenians organized the terror act on 20 November 1991, the details of the incident never emerged completely and the perpetrators have still not been brought to justice.
