ALI HASANOV DISAGREES WITH STATEMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT

According today’s edition of “Gundalik Baku” Newspaper, the unveiling of the U.S. Department’s 2007 Report on Human Rights Practices has been a source of disagreement for some people. 

Republic of Azerbaijan Presidential Administration Socio-political Department head Aliyev has expressed his disagreement with the statement. He said, “The fact along with constructive criticism, achievements in the area of the country’s democratic development and providing of human rights, including, freedom of the press and freedom of expression, casts doubt on the use of correct sources and some cases of distorted information have been noted. The ideas and comments in this report stem from lack of information and the failure to deeply investigate matters. It is not possible to agree with the report’s general assessment.”
