Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Monitoring Committee Special Rapporteur on Azerbaijan Andres Herkel, who is currently visiting Azerbaijan, met with “Tolishi Sado” Newspaper Editor-in-chief Novruzali Mammadov, who is being held in Prison #15.
The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by Hilal Mammadov, Chairman of the Defense Committee for Chief Editor Novruzali Mammedov’s right.
According to H. Mammedov, A. Herkel noted that he is familiar with the imprisoned journalist’s case materials and hopes that justice will be restored soon. PACE special rapporteur on political prisoners in Azerbaijan Christoph Strasser will also attempt to visit N.Mammadov, Herkel noted.
