CABLE TELEVISION CEASES BROADCAST OF “REN TV” DURING DEMONSTRATION OF FILM

Recently, the broadcasting of Russia’s “REN TV” TV channel was ceased by the Cable Television during the demonstration of the mini-series “Krovaviy razvod” (“Bloody divorce”), according to Yeni Musavat newspaper. Musavat Party Central Executive Office’s Head Arif Hajili told Yeni Musavat that the film about Sumgayit incidents in 1988 was unfair and biased. “Azerbaijani people are slandered in the film,” said Hajili.

KTV press service’s head Huseyn Ismayilbeyli said, “Broadcasting of films contrary to territorial integrity, independence and interests of the state of Azerbaijan should be ceased according to the contract signed with our subscribers. The channel can be closed entirely if it works against Azerbaijan’s policy. This is the stance of the National TV and Radio Council.”
Foreign Affairs Ministry press service’s head Elkhan Polukhov said that interpreting Daglig Garabakh, which is the historical and current land of Azerbaijan, as an independent territory is contrary to the international laws, and serious investigation will take place on this issue.
