Today, 12 April, in the Yasamal District Court, under the chairmanship of judge Khagani Tagiyev, a hearing was held on the special format lawsuit of the “Council for Textbook Evaluation” (CTE) operating under Ministry of Education against textbook expert Alovsat Osmanli.
The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by A.Osmanli.
During the hearing Osmanli filed a motion to appoint an examination for his writings in question. The judge fulfilled the lawsuit and postponed the hearing until the examination feedback is achieved.
The members of the Council for Textbook Evaluation appealed to the Yasamal District Court under article 147.1 (libel) of the Criminal Code regarding the sentence “The Council for Textbook Evaluation commits falsification in choosing textbook sets” in A.Osmanli’s series of articles related to the problems in education that was published in Azadlig newspaper.
