Today, 10 December, in the Azerbaijan Press Centre, a presentation was held through support of the Council of Europe Information Office in Azerbaijan for the books “Expression freedom during crisis,” published on the basis of the leader recommendations of the Council of Europe Ministers Committee; and “Joint living,” of Media and Information Society Department Directorate on Human Rights and Legal Issues.
EC Information Office director Ilgar Ibrahimli gave information about the books and said that these books are information booklets regarding the Council of Europe standards related to the media’s contribution to social unity, dialogue among cultures, tolerance, and participation in the democratic process.
Additionally, EC Azerbaijan expert David Goldberg spoke and pointed out that the main purpose of the foundation of these books is to evaluate the independence and professionalism of journalists, as well as the situation of other sectors in Azerbaijan.
