A criminal case has been opened in the Binagadi District Court under article 163.1 (interference in legal work of journalist) of the Criminal Code in connection with beating of "Yeni Musavat" column writer Zamin Haji by Karabakh Liberation Organization Chairman Akif Nagi.
Zamin Haji told this to the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety. He said that today, 16 December, he visited the Binagadi District Prosecutor’s Office and gave a statement regarding the incident.
KLO Chairman Nagi told IRFS that he found out about the case opened against him from press. “I have not been told about the criminal case by any one and I have not been called to any place to be interrogated,” said Nagi.
