According to day.az website, some parliamentary deputies in Azerbaijan are calling for "Azadlig" Newspaper Editor-in-chief Ganimat Zahid's release.
National Deputy Panah Huseynov stated that prosecutor's demand for five years imprisonment for Ganimat Zahid is a blow to the fair court system and human rights. According to Huseynov this is unacceptable and the editor-in-chief should be released.
National Deputy Jamil Hasanli expressed his opinion on this issue. He said, "If we consider that two of the imprisoned journalists are from the same family we may proclaim that the situation is not welcoming. I participated in Ganimat Zahid's hearing and I am certain that this is an set-up case."
