ELMIN BEDELOV`S APPEAL NOT FULFILLED

Today, 2 July, in the Baku Appellate Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Jamila Sefiyeva, a hearing was held on the appeal of student-journalist Elmin Badalov against the decision of the Nasimi District Court that was issued on the 5th of April, 2010. Badalov was dismissed from the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy (ASOA).

Judge Jamila Sefiyeva said that the decision issued by the Nasimi District Court on the 5th of April was upheld and the appeal was not fulfilled.  

E.Badalov`s lawyer F.Namazli told IRFS that they will file a cassation appeal against this decision.  

 

Yeni Musavat newspaper’s employee Elmin Bedelov was dismissed from the State Oil Academy on the 19th of January 2010. On the 12th of November 2009 Elmin Bedelov published an article on pia.az website (“Reportage from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy”) regarding incidents of bribes and financial frauds in the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. The student-journalist claims that harassment against him nad his failures are because of the article. Although he filed a lawsuit in the Nasimi District Court against Azerbaijan State Oil Academy and Rector Siyavush Garayeva, the decision was issued to not fulfill the lawsuit on the 5th of April, 2010.
