Georgian journalist not allowed enter Azerbaijan

Head of the Georgian Go Group Media organization Margarita Akhvlediani, was not allowed to enter Azerbaijan. She was detained at the Baku airport upon arrival from Tbilisi on May 22, reports Turan Information Agency. According to Turan, the reason was a stamp in her passport for visiting Nagorno-Karabakh.

Head of press service of the Foreign Ministry, Elman Abdullayev, told the APA information agency it is unlawful to visit the occupied territories of Azerbaijan without relevant permission of Baku. “Such a visit is disrespect to the sovereignty of Azerbaijan, and violation of Azerbaijani legislation and international norms” Abdullayev concluded.

Note that Margarita Akhvlediani came to Baku to conduct trainings.
