Today, 22 May, in the Baku Appellate Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Gail Mammadov, a hearing took place on the appeal of citizen Sayyara Heydarova and injured party Alim Babayev.
During the hearing Judge Gail Mammadov annulled the verdict issued by the Surakhani District Court Judge Nuraddin Mustafayev on 22 April under article 221.1 (hooliganism, violating public order, expressing disrespect in society openly, using force or threatening to use force on citizens, and destruction of private property) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic and scheduled the next hearing for 3 June at 11:00 a.m.
The injured party A.Babayev appealed to the Appellate Court because he was not happy about the verdict adopted by the Surakhani District Court Judge Nuraddin Mustafayev to sentence Sayyara Heydarova to 2 years 7 months and 15 days of corrective labor with one year conditional imprisonment (probation).
Citizen Sayyara Heydarova stated that she appealed to the Appellate Court because the Surakhani District Court Judge Nuraddin Mustafayev adopted the verdict without her participation and the investigation into her case was spurious and had violations.
Citizen Sayyara Heydarova was sentenced to 2 years 7 months and 15 days of corrective labor with one year conditional imprisonment (probation) under article 221.1 (hooliganism, violating public order, expressing disrespect in society openly, using force or threatening to use force on citizens, and destruction of private property) of the Criminal Code.
