Today, 1 June, in the Baku Appellate Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Tofig Samadov, a hearing was scheduled to take place on the appeal of “Yeni Musavat” newspaper correspondent Afgan Mukhtarli. The opposite party Irada Salimova (Mammadova) did not participate stating she did not receive an invitation to a court hearing. Therefore the judge scheduled the hearing for 16 July at 10:00 a.m.
Citizen Irada Salimova filed a lawsuit against “Yeni Musavat” newspaper correspondent Afgan Mukhtarli in the Yasamal District Court claiming that her honor and dignity were damaged in the article published by A.Mukhtarli in “Yeni Musavat” newspaper. According to the decision issued by the Binagadi District Court, “Yeni Musavat" Newspaper employee Afgan Mukhtarli had to publish a refutation and to pay 250 AZN in compensation.
