Elichin Sadigov, the lawyer for imprisoned “Azadlig” Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Ganimat Zahid, told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety that today at noon Zahid stopped his hunger-strike.
In addition to this, Zahid appealed to all people participating in the hunger-strike in support of him to also stop the action.
“Yeni Musavat” Newspaper correspondent Hekim Eldostu Mehdiyev, who joined the hunger-strike yesterday, told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety that after Zahid’s appeal and an appeal from “Yeni Musavat” Party chairman Isa Gambar, all of the strikers agreed to stop the action.
In his appeal, Zahid also thanked all of the hunger-strike participants for their support.
