INVESTIGATION INTO CASE OF AGIL KHALIL CONTINUES

“Azadlig” Newspaper Director Azer Ahmedov told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety that yesterday, March 26, Investigator Kamal Talibov from the Office for the Investigation of Grave Crimes of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor

came to “Azadlig” Newspaper’s editorial office and asked Ahmeodov some questions about the beating of correspondent Agil Khalil. In addition to this, the investigator examined the photo camera that Khalil had with him on that day and took down the camera specifications. The investigator also took on his memory stick the pictures of people cutting down trees and of the journalist being beaten.
Ahmedov also noted that Khalil remains in Azerbaijan’s Kurdemir region. The journalist’s health is improving, but he still has pain on the left-side of his body.
