JOURNALIST EXPELLED FROM APARTMENT FOR HIS LETTER TO PRESIDENT

Azadlig newspaper reporter Natig Adilov has been evicted from the apartment he lived in that he was renting, Adilov reported to IRFS.

Adilov says that earlier he went to Housing Management Office #19 to request an accommodation document need to register his child at school. However, a bribe was required of him. But he requested and filed a letter to the President of Azerbaijan on May 14, requsting removal of his Azerbaijani citizenship for his family and him in a protest to the bureaucracy and corruption in the country.
The journalist told IRFS that he has been required to vacate the apartment soon. The owner of the apartment has been threatened by the Housing Management Office (HMO) leadership requiring the owner to evict the journalist.
Sabail District HMO #19 Head Abuzar Huseynov told IRFS that because of Adilov’s registration in Sabirabad region, he was requested to present a rental contract. Huseynov dismissed the bribe claim of the journalist.
