On 17 March, in the meeting of the Assistance Fund for Freedom of Speech and Protection of Journalists, a decision was adopted to make 250 AZN financial assistance to the families of Azadlig newspaper’s Editor-in-chief Ganimat Zahid, Imprisoned Editor-in-chief Gundelik Azerbaijan and Realniy Azerbaijan Newspapers’ Eynulla Fatullayev, youth bloggers Adnan Hajizade and Emin Milli (Abduallyev) on the occasion of Novruz holiday, according to “Turan” information agency.
The founders of the fund are the “Yeni Nesil” Journalists’ Union, the Azerbaijan Journalists’ Union, the Najaf Najafov Fund and the Azerbaijan Democratic Journalists’ League. The fund operates with financial support from the Open Society Institute Assistance Fund.
