Today, 30 October, in the Yasamal District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Svetlana Ahmadova, a hearing was held on the lawsuit put forth by the Head of the Caucasus Muslims Department Sheykul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade against "Gundalik Baki" newspaper for defense of honor and dignity.
A decision was adopted during the hearing. According to the decision the “Gundalik Baki” newspaper has to publish a refutation and apologize to Haji Allahshukur Pashazade.
“Gundalik Bakı” newspaper editor-in-chief Habil Valiyev stated that he will file an appeal against the decision.
A. Pashazade filed a lawsuit against "Gundalik Baki" Newspaper due to article "Narcotics Itinerary in the South – 2" published in the newspaper on 14 January, 2009. Pashazade claims that his honor and dignity was damaged, and demands that the newspaper publish a refutation and apologize.
