Today (4 September) in the Baku Appellate Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Ilgar Khalafov, a court hearing was conducted on the appeals complaint of Eldar Alizade against the decision of the Yasamal District Court issued on the lawsuit Alizade filed against “Zerkalo” Newspaper.
Claiming that the decision of the Yasamal District Court was unfounded, Judge Khalafov issued a decision to return the case to the first instance court.
Alizade appealed to the Yasamal District Court claiming that an article dedicated to the second world war, which was published in “Zerkalo” newspaper 10 months ago, was damaging to his honor and dignity. The Yasamal District Court declared the lawsuit unfounded and didn’t consider the case.
