NATIONAL TELEVISION AND RADIO COUNCIL ANNOUNCES COMPETITION REGARDING NEW CULTURE CHANNEL

According to APA Information Agency, the National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) announced a competition regarding the opening of Culture TV channel.

In a meeting held by the NTRC on 30 July, they discussed the present situation in the television and radio broadcasting sector in the country.  Council members pointed out that television and radio programs pertain to show-business, that have low ratings, and few programs are related to education. They also noted that a Culture TV channel about Azerbaijan’s culture, history, geography, morals, and world culture is needed.

 

The NTRC considered the demands of article 15 of the law on “Television and Radio Broadcasting” and announced a competition for frequency 44 in Baku and the Absheron area regarding the opening of this specialized television channel: Culture TV. Applications for competition will be accepted from 4 August to 15 September.
