According to the letter of “Assistance Fund for the Defense of Speech Freedom and Journalists” Administrative Staff, the Open Society Institute Assistance Fund allocated additional 9000 USD to the families of imprisoned journalists.
According to “Turan” News Agency, 3000 USD was allocated for Azadlig Newspaper Editor-in-chief Ganimat Zahid (according to the appeal of his spouse Ayende Murseliyeva), 3000 USD for Gundelik Azerbaijan Newspaper Editor-in-chief Eynulla Fatullayev (according to his father Emin Fatullayev’s appeal), 1000 USD for Bizim Yol newspaper employee Mushfig Huseynov (according to his spouse Arzu Huseynova’s appeal), 1000 USD to Alumni Network Youth Organization Coordinator Emin Milli (Abduallyev) (according to his mother Natella Abdullayeva’s appeal), 1000 USD to internet videoblogger Adnan Hajizade (according to Hikmet Hajizade’s appeal).
Journalist Mushfig Huseynov was released according to the presidential pardon decree signed on 25 December.
