PERSON WHO ATTACKED JOURNALIST’S HOUSE SET FREE

"Ayna" and "Zerkalo" newspapers’ correspondent, employee of the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety and Great Britain Institute for War and Peace Reporting (iwpr.net) Idrak Abbasov, whose house was attacked on 18 November, was invited to Binagadi District Police Department Police Unit #40 today (20 November).

Abbasov himself reported this to IRFS.

According to Abbasov, Deputy Chief Emin Aslanov received him.  Aslanov told Abbasov that a serious investigation will be conducted into the case and attacker(s) will be punished. “However, it was clear to me that the attacker I ceased with the help of my brothers was set free and no criminal case has been instituted. I am seriously concerned about this,” said Abbasov.
