"Yeni Musavat" Newspaper Assistant Editor-in-chief Azer Aykhan told the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety, that an employee from his newspaper was threatened.
“The reason for this is an article he published about Tax Minister Fazil Mammadov,” said Aykhan. “After the article was published in our newspaper an unidentified person called our editorial office and threatened our employee. Then someone made a "friendly" call to our editorial office to find out the coordinates of the journalist." Aykhan added that they will appeal to law enforcement agencies on Monday to protect the journalist.
