[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The arrested activist of the Party of People’s Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA), Elkhan Aliyev, suffered a heart attack, the activist’s colleagues in the Party told Turan.
“On November 4, he called home and said that he felt unwell and turned to the doctors of the Baku pre-trial detention center. Doctors, having examined him, diagnosed a heart attack,” said a member of the PPFA, Jeyhun Novruzov.
Despite suffering a heart attack, Aliyev was not hospitalized.
The prison service could not be reached for comment.
*Elkhan Aliyev was detained on the afternoon of July 26 by employees of the Sabunchi police of Baku. The press service of the Interior Ministry reported that two other people, Yusif Aliyev and Vafadar Akhundov, were also detained together with Aliyev.
All three are suspected of selling a land plot using forged documents. The case was initiated under articles on fraud, illegal forgery of document and the use of false documents. The case was initiated at the request of the buyer of the plot.
In his video from the detention Aliyev stated about a possible provocation against him. On July 27, the Sabunchi district court arrested him for 3 months. Human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
