The leader of the Popular Front Party, Ali Karimli, appealed to the arrested party activist Niyameddin Ahmedov with an appeal to end the hunger strike.
In his message via Facebook, Karimli recalls that Ahmedov has been on a hunger strike since September 22. All this time he was deprived of the opportunity to communicate with his family and a lawyer.
Only on October 3, he was allowed to contact a lawyer and report that despite being infected with the coronavirus, he was on a hunger strike and was refusing medication. In connection with the provision of an opportunity to talk by his lawyer, Ahmedov began to drink water, but still refuses food and medicine.
Karimli urged Ahmedov to abandon his death hunger strike. He is convinced that the people of Azerbaijan will continue to fight for the release of political prisoners.
“Niyamaddin and other friends of political prisoners will not be in dungeons for long. I ask the lawyer Zibeyda Sadigova to convey my request to Ahmedov,” Karimli said.
