On August 7, the Court of Appeal rejected a complaint to replace the arrest with house arrest of the famous economist Gubad Ibadoglu.
The court considered the complaint “unfounded”, lawyer Bahruz Bayramov said. Ibadoglu was present at the trial and again pleaded not guilty as saying that he was being persecuted for his political activities.
As for Ibadoglu’s poor health, the lawyer confirmed that it remains serious, which was confirmed by the prison doctors.
It may be reminded that Ibadoglu was arrested under Article 204.3.1 (production of counterfeit money). Earlier, he was arrested for 3 months and 26 days by the decision of the Narimanov court.
