A member of the Musavat party, Rovshan Huseynov, was detained on October 13 by people in civilian clothes, announced by the deputy chairman of Musavat Faraj Karimli. Huseynov was taken to the 30th department of the Surakhani district police department.
“Today at about 15:30 Rovshan Huseynov was detained and taken to the police. Before the arrest, a call was made to his mobile phone. Since Huseynov left the phone at home, his wife answered the call. She was ordered to bring her phone to the department,” Faraj Karimli told Turan.
Two days ago, the police cut off the path of Musavat activists following to the monument to Mammad Emin Rasulzade in the village of Novkhani. At the same time, Huseynov protested against the actions of the police. It is possible that this was the reason for the detention.
It was not possible to get comments from the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
