An activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Mutallim Orujev was arrested on charges of drug trafficking.
Turan was informed about this in the PFPA.
In recent years, Orudzhev has lived in Germany. However, on June 1, he was deported to Azerbaijan, after which he was repeatedly interrogated by the law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan.
He was asked about the activities of Azerbaijani political emigrants in Europe.
On October 22, after another call to the security forces, there was no information about him.
Only today the lawyer Nemat Karimli managed to arrest Orudzhev on October 24 by the decision of the Narimanov District Court for 4 months.
He was charged under Art. 234.4.3 (drug trafficking) of the Criminal Code, under which he faces up to 12 years in prison.
The Popular Front Party considers the arrest of Orudzhev politically motivated.
